Creative Journeys

Nisa Lee Events

At the end of their senior year, all Scarsdale High School students were tasked with acquiring an internship for the last two months of school. Here, I started my journey with Nisa Lee: founder and CEO of Nisa Lee Events, based in Westchester. Nisa, a chef and planner known for her creativity and attention to detail, brought me on to help with her marketing and branding efforts.

Over the course of two months, I helped redesign her SquareSpace website, created social content to reflect current events and culinary trends, and designed seasonal letters through MailChimp. I also assisted in planning and capturing full-scale wedding set ups. After my internship ended, Nisa offered me a part-time role as her Marketing and Design Assistant. Over the next two and a half years, I continued working for her whenever I was home from college–taking on everything from her social media campaigns to full brand refreshes, and even met some new clients along the way...

RR Events

After working closely with Nisa, she introduced me to her partner, Rob–the founder of RR Events, a company that builds custom wedding decor, mobile bars, lighting fixtures, and more. Nisa regularly used Rob’s pieces in her event setups, and their partnership gave me a behind-the-scenes look at how small businesses collaborate to bring high-end experiences to life. I took Rob on as a client as well, designing his first website, and working on several of his social media campaigns, including Instagram and Facebook.

Zabb Thai Kitchen

In the summer of 2023, Nisa introduced me to one of her close friends who owned a Thai restaurant in West Nyack, NY. Like Nisa, she was also Thai and deeply committed to her businesses–but it relied heavily on repeat customers and word of mouth. She was ready to grow her brand, but didn’t have the digital presence or marketing knowledge to put herself out there. I took her on as a client, leading a full refresh of the restaurant’s online identity. I redesigned the Zabb Thai Kitchen logo, website, and menu, launched consistent social media content through Meta Business Suite, and even introduced a catering menu to help her brand expand into private events. Within a few months, she began driving more traffic to her socials and saw a noticeable uptick in customer visits.

Growing up in Khonkaen in Northeast Thailand, she was immersed into the restaurant industry at a young age, seeing her grandmother and her mother both owning their own restaurants. She has been a professional in the restaurant business for over ten years. She is ambitious, driven, creative, and outgoing. Her attention to detail and craftsmanship allow her to be creative in the kitchen while still maintaining authentic Thai flavors in her cooking. Her culinary creations are nothing short of decadent and flavorful.'
